Our Practices – Yeovil Health Centre

Yeovil Health Centre was one of the first three practices in south Somerset to join forces with Symphony Healthcare Services, in April 2016. The centre, previously under the management of the Pathways group, is located on the top floor of the Boots store within the Quedam shopping centre, in the heart of Yeovil.

The health centre serves a very diverse population from Yeovil and the surrounding villages in close proximity to Yeovil and is open 7 days a week between 8am and 8pm.

New patients are able to register for the whole range of healthcare services available.

Yeovil Health Centre is also able to offer a limited number of urgent on-the-day appointments for non-registered patients who ‘walk in’. These appointments are available on a first come, first served basis for patients who require an urgent appointment with a medical clinician. Patients should continue to book all non-urgent and routine appointments with their registered GP practice.

There is a wide patient population at the health centre, which has grown rapidly over the last seven years to over 6,000 registered patients. The largest age group is currently between 20 and 50 years of age. Translation services are also on offer to help around a third of patients, who do not have English as their first language.

The health centre offers a wide range of healthcare services to patients and is starting to introduce the new models of care developed under the Symphony Programme, where Health Coaches positively support both patients and GPs to provide additional guidance, information and coordination of care services.

IWGC certificate of excellence

Earlier this year, Yeovil Health Centre was awarded a Certificate of Excellence, from ‘I want Great Care’- a system of real-time feedback for patients using healthcare services.  This award is given to practices who receive consistently excellent feedback.
